Jane Sorensen

As the founder and leader of the Poyntlyss Sistars, Jane Sorensen's steady hand has steered the band through the new millennium. She has booked an incredible number of gigs over the years to constant acclaim. In addition, Jane also choreographs the Sistars dance moves and skillfully creates its non-stop set lists. Jane's sets pack the dance floors with enthusiastic dancers and her ability to pick just the right blend of rock and soul tunes never ceases to amaze.

Jane hails from Philadelphia, PA. Prior to her stint as Band manager/choreographer, Jane started her training in classical ballet. This led to a lifelong romance with song, dance and the entertainment field. In the mid-80's, she formed the Poyntlyss Sistars as an all-girl song and dance group featuring hit songs from the 50s and 60s. The Sistars performed to background tracks for several years at numerous benefits and were weekly favorites in the Guerneville River Resort area. The Sistars met the late Muddy Rivers and his Simplistics in the mid-90's and they performed around the Bay Area, teaming up with former vocalists from the Drifters and Coasters.

In late 1995, while performing with the Simplistics, Jane met Davey Go. With the help of Jane's husband, John Sorensen, Jane and Davey launched The Poyntlyss Sistars Rock and Soul Band. Jane's vision of a show band with choreography and dynamic musicianship soon took on a life of its own. Jane found herself fronting an award-winning unstoppable musical dynamo. Jane continues to be a dedicated and inspirational band leader with the band's current incarnation, The Poyntlyss Sistars Rockin' Show Band, and she has blossomed into an amazing rock singer/performer in her own right. Over the years, Jane has brought down the house with her version of "Mony, Mony," and she regularly delivers explosive versions of "I Love Rock and Roll," "Middle of the Road" and "I Hate Myself for Loving You."
